Strengthening Families
Strengthening Families is a year-long program that focuses on preventing child abuse and neglect by strengthening families. It is a strength-based, protective factors approach based on two beliefs: all families have strengths and all families need support. Early education programs that participate in this program learn how to support children and families in developing their five protective factors, which include: social emotional competence of children, knowledge of parenting and child development, social connections, concrete support in times of need, and parental resilience.
